Disc Golf Surprise

I recently had a disc golf friend send me an the invitations to his wedding that were printed on a golf disc.

I have to confess that was a new one. He only sent out a some what small amount, but since they are both avid disc golfers I cannot say that I am surprised. There reception will be at the disc golf course and he said to make sure you bring discs as they plan on throwing a round.

Of course this raises a good question . . .

what do you wear? A suit or disc golfing clothes.

I guess I better ask.

IF you are thinking of playing Mafia Wars here is the best piece of advice you can have.

Start your Character as a Maniac. After all we are looking for the quick weight loss diet and being a maniac helps.

The Maniac will recover energy quicker. This is what is needed to do jobs. Jobs is more important than money. Several of us started with the money guy. What a mistake that one was. Money is only good on the New York level. Everywhere else it is pointless. The stamina recovery guy is ok, better then money, but you will get further faster doing maniac.

My daughter is in nursing school and working with medical equipment and all the other things.

I have to confess that she works her tail off. She has to pass a national test for nursing. She has been talking with me and I have been teaching her to pass a test.

On multiple choice question the keywork is eliminate.

Remember to get your choices up from 20% to 50%.

Staying Out of Trouble

The cop in the prior post gives several examples of people who would steal Ferrari parts and then get them to confess. The best way to get a criminal to confess, according to the cop, is to have the criminal write an apology letter.

Why would someone do this? Other then the cop lying. I am not to sure. After watching the first video with prof. I will never again talk with a cop. I have to confess that a traffic ticket may be a little on the hard side to pull off. Put I do not plan on getting those.

I have been watching a video on why not to talk the police. This is rather odd. His reasons are rather simple. People will make mistakes and get in to trouble.

Tells you that you are going to lose. I think I agree with the professor and not tell the cops anything whatsoever. Tell them that you are no guilty and then you are toast.

Warmth in the Building

My friend just went to take the PRAXIS again. She is quite unhappy about the whole situation.

What was funny was the college had some new steel buildings she had to take the test in. She complained that the buildings were not finished and rather cold.

Of course taking the PRAXIS here in this state is not easy. You have to travel and travel then stay overnight and then take the test. So it is quite $$$$ to take the test in SD. Other states have the similar though not quite as bad issues.

FTP problems

Grrr. I am thinking I need to have some insurance quotes or my blogs. As it turns out Google (boooo) is stopping FTP blogs and forcing us to move to somewhere else. Boooo. So I am hoping I will not have any problems on doing an update and moving over to something a little more user, nay customer service, friendly. I mean I would be willing to pay google what it is going to cost me to move somewhere else. If I could have it done the way I want it done.

Guess that is not going to happen.

I have always thought it odd the differences between students who drive the wannabe sports and of the trucks tricked out with the truck accessories.

Of course these guys are always trying to one up each other. Ahh the joys of high school students. The worst part has always been the radio systems that are always booming. Good thing we have noise policy on the campus parking lot.

I have been playing with scanning software recently. When I work at home I need a good software, of course that is where I do color scanning.

At work I can scan black and white really easy. I have found that many schools are going to these kind of multi faceted machines. Printer-Scanner-Copier. I love that at work. The one at work goes to PDF for quick and easy usage.

Makeup on Me

I know that I have not been blogging lately . . . I have been involved with the local community theater do the play called M*A*S*H*

This seems to be based off the book and makes me want to read the orginal book. OF course one of the makeup people put on best face cream on me so I could get the makeup off. What a pain to put on and take off. Of course what was bad I did not realize that they had stuff to take off makeup.

So after the final dress rehersal I had to go to the store . . . with the make up on. I forgot that I had it till a friend said something. Grrrr.

It was funny.

One of the things I have to confess that I hate is adult acne. I thought I would be done with these things once I grew up. I still have some zits. The worst ones are really bad.

Well I should not be so bummed because I am working well on trying to get rif of the whole issue.

In any case I am looking forward to finally being done. I am just hoping that I will not be dead.

I also wish that TV shows would stop being preachy about health care. I wonder if there was health care 'reform' if you could get treatment.

I wonder what the government will do once the inflation hits really hard. Appernetly we are working on 16.8% inflation for the year. Now this is scary.

It has been years since we have used gold coins as the standard. If we were on the gold standard the spending could not be going up.

One of the things I have found about going to so many differing schools and colleges is the need to have a good cell phone repeater for good signal.

Let me digress. I normally work in a place that has really bad cell phone reception. Since we all use cell phones all the time . . . we neeed to be able to hit a signal all the time.

Well we installed the repeater and it is great! Works like a charm.

I have a new ps3 that works so nicely.

OF course the ps3 is missing some of the educational games that are avalaible. One of my favorite computer games to use was civilization.

This game showed how well it took to make a civilization. Some of the kids really get into and plot hard on it. Others have nothing to do with it.

New Teaching Jobs

After taking the Praxis test, your next step will be the great fun of finding employment as a teacher.

Let me give some advice.

Apply, apply, apply. Stretch your wings out to new places, this may mean moving.

Apply to jobs you may not want. This seems backwards. Sometimes taking a job, esp if you have no choice, may open new doors for you and new items for you to learn from.

Mostly keep and open mind when looking for work.

This guy was really funny. What always got me was the stoopid voice he used. He did talk normal. There is a great bit where he does Elvis.

Again, we are tested. And again, we must answer history's call.

One year ago, I took office amid two wars, an economy rocked by a severe recession, a financial system on the verge of collapse, and a government deeply in debt. Experts from across the political spectrum warned that if we did not act, we might face a second depression. So we acted -– immediately and aggressively. And one year later, the worst of the storm has passed.

This is a blame Bush moment. Can he please stop blaming Bush. This is Obama’s America now, not Bush. Grow up little boy.

Many experts also warned against doing to much. This who are in the the field of economics warned of acting in such a harsh manner.

Has the worst of the storm passed. Watch out for inlfation later on this year.

But the devastation remains. One in 10 Americans still cannot find work. Many businesses have shuttered. Home values have declined. Small towns and rural communities have been hit especially hard. And for those who'd already known poverty, life has become that much harder.

Well actually that number is higher. The U6 is nearly 18% and some are saying closer to 20%. Remember the government said that the only reason the number was so low was becasue 600,000+ were removed from the roles of the unemployed. They gave up.

On the day of the annoucement WM and Verizon announced another 26,000 lay offs coming. I have to confess that these numbers are testing the effectivnes of my best acne treatments and my gray hair

I hope that these people can find work. The sad part is the most of them are unskilled.

An Unfunded Mandate

Where is all the help for education that we were supposed to be getting in this first year of Obama's adminstration. He seems more intrested in the best prenatal vitamins and everything else. He seems to want to help the unions more then anything. I guess education is really not that important.

As a teacher I hope that we will get something good and not another unfunded mandate that NCLB was.

BTW the unfunded mandate was the required tests for teachers. Teachers have to pay nearly an extra $1000 on top of everything just to get licensed. That is an unfunded mandate.

Staying Warm

I am trying to find items like best acne treatments while doing everything else on the busy plate.

I am currently trying to finish a MA degree so that way I can finally finish school. I am thinking the odds of me going for a doctoral degree are small. I mean anything is possiable, just not likely.

Kids in the car

After our student teacher came back from he Praxis, she had to drive an hour for the test. Then take the test and then drive back. I saw her at a local store after her test and she was needing some of the best eye cream for dark circles.

I forgot how tiring that test was. However the last she needed was for her husband to drive and then have two screaming kids in he back of the car. In any case she fel quite good abou the test and is expecting some good results soon.

Moving On

One of the problems that I am hearing from teacher ed students is that they have to move to accept a job and then of course the cross country moving companies come into play. Of course the funny thing is that it is easier moving state to state rather then an instate move.

There are federal laws that protect people when the move to anoher state.

70 movies redux

While I should be taking a disney world vacations I am watching a funny movie called Black Dynamite.

This movie which was done in 2009 is so bad, it is supposed to be. But it is quite funny with lots of funny lines. Pimps talking about buiness and and needing to gross a big number in the first quarter.

Love the special effects esp. the car that blows up before hit the ground.

Love those 70s movie.

Comfert in the Classroom

I like the having differing things in the room for the students. At one time I had a really nice modern sofas that helped facilitate discussion.

Also I found that kitchen tables work like a charm. I like when students can feel comfterable and can talk. The students also seem to study harder and learn better.

When the year moves around I recheck everything. I received some good auto insurance quote and some new life insurance quotes. So far I am doing well on the looking. All it does is to take a few minutes a day and a few phone calls.

I am now working on the house stuff. What a pain. Well the one good thing is that car and house usually go together.

Losing Weight Top of year.

I have been wanting to lose weight, actually lots of weight. I was looking at changing one of the meds I was on, but insurance said, no. So now I have to find the best diet supplement that I can. At one week I have lost about 5 pounds so far I am working at losing more. I would like to lose really fast that is of course not so good.
