Going Into Test

Well of course walking into the Praxis with ipods is a bad idea. I have to wish I could listen to music while I test, but no.

I took the Praxis I (the PPST) at a computer center. The real problem with that is of course, you have to leave everything at the door and in a locker.

After reading the instructions, I though the place might have me walk in naked. Which would have been bad as it was quite cold in there.

Meeting the Repressed

I have been watching Meet the Press for this week. I have to love the start with the promotional items ads for aerospace.

Tom Brokaw is not as good as a host.

One of the question was on race. The 'bubba' vote for McCain. The problem is that many of the students I teach with want Barack just becasue he is black.

We have to recall that many people will vote for race just because of race.

Making something of this is . . . well not a good idea.

We must evaluate each person based on thier positions.

Have a happy day

Obama Hates Poor People

I live and work in a state and an area that has a huge free and reduced lunch programs. Most of the students in the area are on the program. And all my school is.

So why would I say Obama hates poor people.

Obama will not drill for more oil.

I know the new fantasy cars that may or may not come are with some new alternative fuel at some point in the future are going to be great in 10-20 years. However, that does not help poor people here and now. People who are living paycheck to paycheck need real help, not some pipedream for the future.

Obama is hoping that IQAir in your tires will help. In reality, we need both new fuel cars and more oil.

Even if we had nice new alterative fuel cars today, that you can go buy right here and now AND we had the infrastructure to pay for the said new cool cars. It will take 20 years for the cars to cycle through the system.

Till the time comes when a poor person can go and buy a new altertaive fuel car for $1000 it will not have saturated the market.

We must drill here and now!

NCLB this year

With all the Schlage going around this election I am wondering how this will affect the highly qualified teachers.

I mean we have been taking praxis tests and getting more 'qualified' to teach. With the variances within the states. As an example compare Ohio or Virginia to South Dakota or Montana and you see a huge differance.

So watch out for this election cycle
