I watching one of my favorite videos the other day. It was the SNL commerical parody. One of my favs is one for a colon cleanse cereal called COLON BLOW!

Why on the Praxis do I mention this . . .

well this is, sometimes, what I think of these tests. The Praxis tests seem to be barf test. How much trivia do you know.

Of course the essay tests require actual knowledge.

Stuck

Grrr. IT is summer and I am need of something like Orlando vacations. I mean I am in real of going somewhere.

My last week off I was supposed to go to on a nice trip. That got cancelled and I then I was going go to Chicago and St Louis over to KC and back home. That did not happen. So I was supposed to an overnight trip. That did not happen.

Turn Down and More

I have a cool hotel for my trip. I have seen some of the pictures and hope like heck they are similar to reality.
There is a cool walk in tub and a nice looking eating area. Of course this is to cost quite a small chunk of change.

However, I like staying in one really nice hotel when I travel. There is something about being spoiled that is lots of fun. Nice turn down with the cholate mint.

In any case, this one looks really nice.

This TIme

This is the time of the year, where I hope your passport is ready to go. If you are in college, get out there and see the world. There is nothing better then seeing the world first hand.

I can bring back stories and ideas. I can show travel videos. However, nothing is as good as being there first hand.

A walk on the non-dorky side

I was amazed at some Link To Copy: vintage sunglasses sunglasses that I saw. Wow did they look differnent then they do today.

Alaways a little thing that makes the world to show how we have changed. The fuuny part is that only the the styles have changed. People have always liked sunglasses. The sunglasses always seem to make even dorky people like a little on the cool side.

Speeding Up

I recently added in more laptop memory into my computer. It is nice to have more ram. Everything runs much faster. If you get a chance to run your computer much faster for a small price then you will be quite happy.

I used a program that did some video encoding. I had several programs end up in virtual memory. Once the virtual memory has a hold of a program it has to be written back to real memory.

Oh Yeah!

Up and Back

When you are taching and you keep grades and stuff you really need to back up on a regular basis.

I personally use a SD card to back up my files with. You should back up daily.

This is just good advice becasue the last thing you wantis to lose your grades. That just makes you say Grrrrr. I mean a serious Grrrrrrr.

Getting ready . . . moe yet

Getting ready for the Praxis test are like doing market research. After all we have to understand the concept. Please in many ways it is a competation. Reemmber this is a competative test. Genrerally speaking a certain percent of test takers will fail the test.

The best time I found to take the test is at the start of the school year. That very first test in either August or September. If you know your stuff . . . then you will score better. If not . . . well you really wanted to take it again anyway.

Musing

I thought as I got older that I would no longer need acne treatment for those horrid little zits. I mean for real. I am sick of them. I have been a non-teenager for over 20 years.

When do they stop. I do not get a lot. Just a a few. But it is till annoying I mean really annoying and they always show up at bad times.

Dem Dar Petrol Prices

I was hoping to travel this summer. I started the idea with a European cruises.

I then moved to going out to the coasts.

I then reduced to a somewhat local trip including several large citites.

I then moved to a small trip to a local large city, an hour away.

Grr. Down to zip.

I am not really a fan of these gas prices. Not like anyone really is. However, I think the driving price is the speculation of gas prices and not any real shortage.

However, if we were allowed to drill for our own oil and ensure national security, oil prices would not be a question.

It is the enviromental extrimists and the poltical parties that are beholden to them, the democrats. This is why your gas prices are huge.

Small Shops.

I have found a new place to get dog and cat supplies for toys and food and such. The place is a feed store. It is an odd thing. I really like the feed store. It is nice and a normal place. It is an small town kind of place.

I would really suggest that you look at the small stores in your area and find a good place to shop. Tell the large corporate overloards, to not be so greedy.

Care

While most of us have life insurance many do not have long term care insurance. I have been thinking about this for awhile. I wonder if this is really worth it at this point.


This is such a confusing issue at the best of times. I mean these companies do not do these things to lose money. They are in the business of having you lose money. If you have any suggestions I would like to know.

Pencils

One thing I know to tell you . . . do not ever I mean ever forget what they tell you to bring.

As an example, bring lots of pencils. It is better to have to many pencils then to few. One of the reasons is that you may have to leave the room to sharpen. Depending on the test, it may be really bad.

As an example, the PLT is a long and hard test. I almost did not finish the test. Others did not finish the test.

Take nothing for granted, control everything you can. Keep your medical id close and your pencils closer.

Standard

Why is it a standardized test? That is simple. This way everything is controlled. I mean you cannot sit on patio furniture or a nice couch and take a test.

I mean you are just not allowed to stray out of the lines. If you stray out of the lines, you lose the silly test. Well good luck on the Praxis test.
