Crossing the Line

I was talking with a person who went to Western Governors Universirty and she lived in California. As part of the program she had to do the Praxis exams, which oddly enough are not given in California. So she had to get her luggage sets and shlep out to Law Vegas to take the test.

I think I would be so frustrated.

Passing

When taking the Praxis exams it is best not to keep all your school tools in your local tool storage box.

You need to bring everything to the table to help you pass this test. You need to take the effort and bring all that you have, and nothing less then your "A" game on testing day. This high stakes test is really really tough.

The Time of the Year

finding the right time to take the Praxis is a rather difficult process. There are only a few times a year the test is given, and people need the time to study. There are easier ways to do skinceuticals.

You have to make sure that your location gives the test that you want. What I found out is that in South Dakota has very few test locations. It means that I have to be really careful of the dates. In my town we have one school that only offers the test one time a year. This makes it hard.

Drama Queening

I know that waiting for the results is quite frustrating and aggravating. If it is writing it is even worse, as writing is quite personal. I would suggest that if you have a loved one that you remove sharp objects, esp. if they are a drama queen, and replace with a safety utility knife.

Of course the good news is that you can take this test an unlimited amount of times. Of course you are bound by dates and times. In any case, once you pass you know where you are headed and will make the second time much easier to take the Praxis.

Transportability

I would hope that the Florida Gators tickets will do well for me.

The Praxis items for differing schools will be odd. Of course Florida does not require the Praxis test. They have a differing set of tests that are rather annoying. Many states have their own tests that do not allow for easy transportability of teacher certification.

Finding a really good Praxis book is on a good day hard. It is like taking a handfull of rocks and tossing them in some rock tumblers and finding a stone actually worth something. They may look pretty on the outside . . . however, they are still worthless rocks.

If you manage to find a really good resource that is Praxis specific please let me know.

Off the stand.

I know that many of our books end up next to the tv stands in our homes or dorm rooms. At this point you need to get them down and start your studying.

I know that it is tough to study for the praxis, however it is needed.


I would encourage you today to take those books down and start working.

Not to do it

I know that we cannot have cell phones and other items inside the testing area. I am sure that people have been thinking that a cell phone booster may help them. This is of course not the case.

You cannot take anything into the testing room, so please do not try. If you do, be ready to be kicked out of the facility. And then a black mark on your record.

Finding the Right Place

I know that many teachers look for good places to live and a bonus for education. I know that many places have like Las Vegas offers many bonus items. THere are many Las Vegas homes for sale along with deals for teachers.

In Minnesota there was loans for teachers. They had go rates and the abiloty for no or really low down.

Finding Praxis

One of the big problems in life of the Praxis test victems, is that people have to travel to large locations. As an exmaple many people in rural locations have to travel great distances.

As an example, you have to go places where you can buy designer inspired jewelry. I do not like going to far away places as I would have to be up by 6:00 am and out by 6:30 AM to make it to the 8:00 am start up.
