I find the phrase: hypocrisy, to be an odd term and an odd hating. There are times when hypocrisy is a good thing. As an example: a lifetime alcoholic encourages you not to drink. HE may still be drinking everyday and killing himself, yet the words are true. And is not considered hypocrisy.
You may be standing in your outdoor gazebos and enjoying a drink. You do not want to hear it. Yet you dismiss this person. Are you correct? No.

I was asked by my daughter what was the difference between Obama and Reagan. Here is my reply:
Let me see if I can explain this.
Unemployment in 1984 was not good. It was actually pretty bad but there was a solid curve getting better It was 7.7% by April 1984 going to 7.2 in November. We had just come out of the WORST recession since the Great Depression. But people knew there was a brighter day coming. People did not have to be convinced that there was something positive ahead, we knew it.
There was a general optimism in the country. The best days are in front of us. Ronaldus Magnus made us feel good about being an American. His oft quoted statement of a America being the light on a shining hill was true.
People knew the recessions were over. New housing starts were up. Interest rates were going down people in the late 70s/ early 80s were paying as high as 25% on a house.
Home values were going up.
Differences:
Federal Debt:
Reagan rang up some large debts. By 1984 the debt was 40% of GDP, and was going to be about $250B. WHich the democrats screamed and howled about for a long time.
Obama has debited this country to no end. Bush’s last budget (or last GOP budget FY07) the total debt was still about 40% of GDP. This year we will hit (we are told) 117% of GDP.
War:
Reagan has a strong military build up. Made people (like me) happy to serve their country and spend cold nights defending America.
Obama is depleting the military, 1 of 2 places that are actual cut in his proposed budget. Military staffing is being gutted right now.
Conflicts:
Reagan had well uhm Grenada. First positive military effort since WWII (Korea and Nam were both losses in my book).
Obama is brining home the troops. Iraq: due to a horrid mistake in political negotiations. Iraq not doing so well. and Afghanistan is even worse.
Income:
Reagan: people were making more money. The prosperity of America was evident.
Obama: Income is way down. While unemployment is officially down people do not see it in the pocket books.
Unemployment:
AS mentioned in the numbers above people thought we were on our way out and were happy that we were making progress.
I do not see the happiness today.
The one difference that did happen is Reagan had to compromise quite a bit has he had no support in the house. If He had the support of both houses of congress in his first years this country would be very different.
The last difference is there is nothing of Obama that says I want more than that. In 1984 people could say four ore years.

It is funny the ad in which Clint says how awesome detroit is was filmed in New Orleans. I am surprised at this. This should not be the way it is done.
If you say Detroit is awesome film it in detroit. I mean it is like a cap screw that is harsh. Well the commerical is a waste. Clint should not have done this commerical at all.

I would rather see a commerical about the guitar teacher on the Samsung. What I found odd is the car ads.
The car ads used to show how great the American Spirit is. Now we get green ads for cars. The pussyfiying of the American spirit. Now we are getting a post life America. That is asking for the second term of OBama.

This has got to be on the better Simpsons episodes. I love the history and making fun of the French. And how the use of a roland td-4k2-s v-compact was really pretty good.
The pit of boring wives was really great. I love that one. I loved the guitar music that was used in this episode.
Of course the 1001 nights was really good also.
The three eyed fish made a comeback.
The peanuts tribute was really good also, with piano.

I am amazed at how nice an electric pool heaters would be this time of year.
I am really glad that I do not live in fairbanks alaska. In fairbanks, there is a low of -50 degrees. People are now talking as I have mentioned earlier there seems to be a new threat of an ice age.

Where do I start. I feel like I have a storage bins full of comments on what was thought to be settled science.
For over 1000 years people thought and assumed that the sun and planets and everything else revolved around the earth. I mean of the ancient guys said how could it be false.
OF course we all know that the earth revolves around the sun.

Like a really good montecristo cigars science is upheld as the perfection. We hear a term that is going around these days about ‘settled science’. I would submit to you that this phrase is not a scientific term but a political one.
When you want to end an argument a person would use the sentence: Global Warming is settled science. This is not meant as a true statement of fact but as a method to shut people up.
SO what has been settled science.

As I have understood the mayan calendar it does end in 2012. Or more accuratly resets back to year one. So do I think the end of the world will happen this year.
Uhm. no.
There are three parts of the calendar sort of like month day year. The problem is I am not sure Mayans understood infinity. The Romans did not and had a limited counting system. So the base 20 system (fingers and toes) was employed in the Mayan calendar. The problem is that the calendar expires. So people are getting all up in arms. I do expect a lot of problems towards the end of the year.
So welcome to 2012.

Well in the wars of Samsung and Apple over the iPad and the iPad knock off the new battlefield is on the TV. I have to confess my favorite part is the end when the Android wanna be iPad gets put up with the books. Which sort of explains how useless the device is.
The translation I have been told is “You try to have fun with me, you try to win against me, you ask me millions of questions, you sit on my lap, you want to stay beside me all the time, strangely, when I stay with you time passes very quickly. This is a precious time.”
