"Men give me some credit for genius. All the genius I have lies in this: When I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. I explore it in all its bearings. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort which I make, the people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought." - Alexander Hamilton

Robin Hood for Today

Obama as Robin Hood!

President Obama is often referred to as Robin Hood as he is delivering to people of the UNited States free money, health care, and help for all people. And Obama is being given credit of taxing the poor and delivering the money to the poor.

However, is this correct? What is the story of Robin Hood? I mean the popular culture story. Richard III, the lionhearted, went to the crusades and left Prince John, with his Mopar parts, in charge of the country. Prince John decided to enrich himself and his friends. So what did Prince John do? He raised the taxes and did projects for himself and his friends.

Robin Hood came along, he may have been a noble or commoner, he stole the tax money back from the wealthy friends of Prince John and gave the tax money back to the people.

So what is the point of Robin Hood? Robin Hood stood up against a greedy and corrupt governemnt that was spending to much people and causing misery upon the people?

So which is Obama? Since Obama is taking from the ‘rich’ I have not become richer.

Device of the decade.

Well here we go with the end of the year stuff. And of course the simple spa filter minded people are calling the end of the decade. Remember there is no zero year so the decade starts on Jan 1, 2011.

There are those who are trying to define the decade in techno terms. What are the most important gadget.

The real question I have is what is the single most iconic gadget of the the past 10 years.

The ipod.

Without question. Everyone and their brother have an ipod. I remember having one in early 2002 that I loved. It was with me for 4 years. I loved carrying all my music with me. Of course that is not easy to do today, as I have 1.5TB of video and 45GB of music. Yet still the iPod is the device of the decade without question it is.

I still love the click of the buttons.

Ancient Rome in Real Life

Well it appears that our congress people are taking more and more trips at taxpayer expense for some alleged need to do an investigation. The good news is that these trips are more like los cabos hotels vacation then work. Oh wait that is not as good as I would hope for,

It is nice to see the Imperial Government lead by Caesar are taking care of themselves. Now where have I heard of this before. Oh yeah Rome around 300-400 AD.

Do not trust the government.

Have a good day.

More on Town Eaters

Okay after that last review with town eating snowman one of my therapist friends wants to place me on his power exam tables for a nice chat.

I men how does someone think about a town eating snowman. In any case I am thinking that maybe I am a tad loopie.

Well at least I am not as crazy as Jar Jar Binks (who should have been killed off).

Have a most happy day.

Snowman . . . News at 11

I took a look at this snowman. Now I have to confess I actually like it. The thing that I like the best is the train that goes around the collectable snowman figurine.

The odd question that I have is . . . why did the snowman eat a town? Why would you want a town eating snowman in your living room.

In any case it is a great item that looks good and has a moving train. The moving train is major points in my book. I also like the fact that it has an AC or battery power. The advantage here is that you are not running through batteries all December long.

Have a great day.

Small print: please read this fast: This review is a result of a feedback campaign by Collectibles Today. I was asked to give an honest opinion about the product I received. Good reviews are not incentivized and poor reviews will not be censored for the opinion of the product.

Tuesday Speech

With all that mounts on the economy at this point and all the new items that are being proposed.

President Obama has been talking about the economy. Recently he was at the Brookings institute pontificating about the economy.

Obama says:
Partly as a result of these and other steps, we’re in a very different place today than we were a year ago. We can safely say that we are no longer facing the potential collapse of our financial system and we’ve avoided the depression many feared. Our economy is growing for the first time in a year – and the swing from contraction to expansion since the beginning of the year is the largest in nearly three decades. Finally, we are no longer seeing the severe deterioration in the job market we once were; in fact we learned on Friday that the unemployment rate fell slightly last month. This is welcome news, and news made possible in part by the up to 1.6 million jobs that the Recovery Act has already created and saved according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Here is the problem that we are seeing. The economy is only growing with the GDP and is the government. People are not sending. Becasue people are not spending, industry is not investing. Orginally the GNP would track economic growth. The GNP did not include government.

I would love to see the GNP numbers. Have a most happy day.
