"Men give me some credit for genius. All the genius I have lies in this: When I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. I explore it in all its bearings. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort which I make, the people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought." - Alexander Hamilton

California and the Sale

Well California is holding a garage sale. I mean the State of CA is trying to sell as much as they can to balance the budget.

They are selling cars, office furniture, and more.

Would you really want to buy things from such a bad state? I mean really why would you do some of this. They are selling on ebay and on Craigslist. Another great day for he state of California. I am just stunned.

Oh yeah, did I mention an all new forest fire?

Have a good day anyway.

Keeping Safe

With all the odd things that are going on in this country from Cap and Tax (trade) to health care tax and inflation standing around the corner. I have been thinking about placing money into something a little more valuable. My first choice is of course gold. However, there is so many odd things with gold, I have also thought of certified diamonds. The nice thing about diamonds they are still pretty and can be used as jewlery so the investment is not sitting in a safe for the next years or until needed.

Spending More

I am thinking that some in the white house are in need of quinny buzz to help them understand economics.

how can we insure everyone, except govt. employees who get to keep the good insurance, and not have it cost anymore?

There are about 10-12 million people who need insurance who cannot get it. Why not just increase medicare? After all Medicare is going bust. Why not bust the whole country for something that is not in the Constitution.

Have a good day.

Money v. Treatment.

With all the grandiouse talk about health care we have to wonder what will actually be covered.

There seems to be an obession about money. However, the real question is will there be better health care. Will simple things like natural acne treatment be covered?

I do not think there will be better coverage and treatment. IF there was then people all over the world would not be coming to the US for the best treatment.

Have a most happy day.

Hard Questions

Well now that the former walk in tubs in chief is back from Korea we have some questions.

Did Bill Clinton, a former president of the United States, actually go to North Korea on his own?

Did Bill Clinton the former president of the United State of America and spouse of the current Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, actually go to North Korea on his own?

I find it hard to believe that he would go on his own out of the goodness of his heart.

And of course the real question: did Bill Clinton, former president of the United States hit on the two female journalist on the way home in the airplane? Enquiring minds want to know!

Test post

This is a test post

The Roc and the Buzzzz a biased reivew.

First, let me say I have only been playing since last summer, so this is my second season, and I am sure I will miss some things that you would not. Second, my favorite disc is clearly my 2009 Star Roc for the USDGC. So needless to say this is a biased review as I love the Innova Roc. Third, I have a plastic addiction. Being a rookie I overbought discs, darn. Lastly, I am for the most an Innova person, mostly because my local store sells about 40 feet of shelf of Innova disc and three feet of Discraft discs.

Why would I want to try a Discraft Buzzz? The fans of the Buzzz seem to love the disc and have given many reasons why to buy the disc and compare it to the Roc. I bought the Photon Glo Buzzz on sale (50% off) at disc golf store. I liked the way it flew as compared to the Roc, therefore, I bought an ESP Buzzz at 172G and went out to throw.

My 180G 2009 USDGC Roc is my mainstay and is my go to disc and is of course most similar to the Buzzz and deserved to be tested out directly. Here are my results:

Round One: Was pretty much a draw. I throw the Roc and the Buzzz and it was hard to tell the difference. There were good throws and bad throws. However, nothing that was easy to tell. However, the Buzzz went straight as straight could and was just wonderful. I decided to buy the last Buzzz at the store which was the twin. One thing I noticed was that Roc would hit a tree and bounce like a ball on a ping pong tables. The Buzz would buzz through a tree and not get to sidetracked. Nice advantage.

The disadvantage to the Buzz was on putting. I missed a two putts that should have been made because I did

The Second Attempt
Round Two was a little more scientific. Round of best throw doubles ROC (Star and 12x KC R-Pro at 170) versus two twin 172G ESP Wasps.

There are two basic measurements:
Score of the round - best score wins
CTB - Easy to determine, I may need to walk off to basket if needed.

I went to Kiwansis Woodlot Park in Mitchell, SD which is a short 1989 foot 9 hole course course with lots of trees.

SCORE
Score was won by the Discraft Buzzz by a 2 throw advantage, I parked the Buzzz nicely a couple of times within three feet of the basket. I also hit a 45 foot putt with the Buzzz, which was really nice.

I also placed all my second shots when not in birdie range right near the pole, for mostly drop in pars.

CTB - Closest To Basket
This was really surprising area. The Buzzz won eight of the nine holes. The only loss was on the short hole one where the the Roc laid up against the pole.
Distance
The CTB also revealed another factor: I threw the Buzzz about 20 - 30 feet further, on a regular basis. The Buzzz was also straighter and ended more directly in front of the basket. I also had no false hyzers, where I accidently throw a hyzer or an anny.

Conclusions
I was really surprised by the performance of the Buzz. The closest to basket was most telling and hitting an extra 25 feet or so make it worth using the Buzzz even more. Since I am vacation, I will have to do more testing on Monday AM.

Will I dump my Rocs? No. It will take more work with the Buzzz disc to see how they go.

Some issues with the Buzzz:

I do not like the smell of the disc, I am sure it will be gone in no time, after all it has been sitting on the shelf for over two years.

I also do not like that Buzzz and Discraft data are on the inside rim. I do not like the raisedness of the touch. I have to rotate the disk.

iPhone App for Looking for an Apartments

There are many apps out there for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. I have apps that do all sorts of things. One of my favorite free apps that I like to play with is an iphone apartment app that will help me find a new apartment.

Now I have to confess, that I am not looking for an apartment, so what I did was look at places I used to live. In So Cali in particular zip code 92804 has tons of apartments. I was able to see what I would be paying today to live where i used to live. I also saw how large the apartments were I used to live. Wow were some of them small.

I also looked at the other places where I have friends. It was a lot of fun. Overall the interface was easy to use and straightforward. If you have an iPhone the GPS will allow you to locate where you are at. Of course if you have an iPod Touch you will also be able to use skyhook. My only complaint is that the map cannot be pinched and enlarged.

Great interface and really useful information make this little program a great and useful piece of software.

This shows an apartment that we rented for about $650 about 20 years ago.

Here are the options that are open to you:

Just get the software, currently free from the app store, and go shopping.
