Why, as a Messiah follower, I am glad Target is not using Christmas
What does Messiah have to do with a prostitute? In 1 Cor, the talmadium asks that question. A further expansion could be... what does Messiah have to do with...
... drunken office parties.
... lewd behavior at parties,
or perhaps even... shall I dare say... maybe...
... a sale on the latest ‘R’ rated porn DVD movie tripe that has been released from the MPAA and major studios?
... a recent video game exploring sex and violence? Oh yes! Let us celebrate the Prince of Peace by shooting up people and have wild sex with whoever is near by!
Or maybe what does Messiah have to do with:
... latest rapper singing, “I want to sex you up!”
... or a girl with more of herself falling out of her clothes on a CD then music?
The answer is simple... Messiah has nothing to do with this (other then waning to redeem those who have fallen away. Paul gives us that information.... NEVER!
My only question that is begged to be asked... why would I want my Lord’s name (okay title) tossed to the dogs and used as scorn and ridicule? Think about it for a minute... many people feel very depressed at Christmas then any other time of the year. Many people have bad emotions with Christmas. Competition in Christmas lights is sick. Greed goes through the roof. Give me this, give me that, I want this... people at Wal-Mart on Black Friday were fighting over stuff and junk that will pass away so quickly. Where did Yeshua or Saul say anything about this being good?
If we say that we are Messiah followers we should not be of the world. There must be stand taken for King Messiah and having the anti-fruit of the spirit should not be associated with Jesus. We need to remember King Messiah in the way He told us to remember Him., not in some other format.
1Cor. 6:15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Messiah himself? Shall I then take the members of Messiah and unite them with a prostitute? Never!
