"Men give me some credit for genius. All the genius I have lies in this: When I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. I explore it in all its bearings. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort which I make, the people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought." - Alexander Hamilton

Rich and Happy or Poor and Unhappy

I am not sure I will ever understand true poverty. I mean in America the poor have used Harleys and use them.

We are often asked the question which would you rather be?

Poor and happy or Rich and unhappy?

Most everyone chooses the poor and happy? Why? Because you cannot but happiness. You may be able to lease it or rent it for an hour but you cannot buy happiness.

So we are given the idea that poverty (or being 'poor') is a virtue.

Why?

I will exclude the obvious either/or logical fallacy for the statement.

I have been poor and unhappy. I would like to try the rich and happy. Or even the rich and unhappy would be better.

So why is 'poverty' or being 'poor' a virtue? I think it is the populas arguement. Most people are poor. Therefore the majority are correct.

Anyone who wants to help me with the rich and unhappy please let me know.
