"Men give me some credit for genius. All the genius I have lies in this: When I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. I explore it in all its bearings. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort which I make, the people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought." - Alexander Hamilton

Why Windows?

The new INtel Macintosh computers have spawned a new cottage industry: virtualiization software. There has always been options for running Windope on the Macintosh.

Soft PC, Virtual PC, Real PC, Guest PC, WINE, DOSBOX as well as several others.

All of these had something in common. They ran without an iNtel chip and suffered from emulation problems. The slow downs were impossible. VPC and the other recent ones would need to have older versions of a Micro$oft operating systems.

Now we have options.

Bootcamp: Apple's own software that lets people boot directly into Windows.

Parallels: Lets people run Windope in the own window on the desktop as a separate program. I personally like Parallels.

The question I really have is why?

Okay, I am using DOSBOX to run my favorite game of all time, "V for Victory."

In the area I live there are a number of companies (farming) that have specific WinTel only programs. Okay, I can deal with that.

But, it seems that most postings are wanting to run Windope full time. Why? 114K+ viruii, spyware? I am not to sure.

I just switched my wife over to Macintosh, she was not happy. But, her sister just had a virus while running Macafee. This scared her (my wife). I ran a spyware removal program. OMG! look at how many spyware there was. It took me hours to remove. My wife has one Windope program that she wants to run. So she is getting VPC.

But come on Mac people, Windows is not fun, it is not pretty, it is not easy to use, it is fully of virus, spyware and more. The mac is designed as it should be, a great user experience.

I am sure this is a trend that will pass, windows on mac.
